SUP Yoga on Stand Up Paddleboards

Yoga on Stand on Top Paddleboards is available with your own paddle board or with one rented from BrassWnid Landing. Jesica Bunker, an Indian River, Michigan resident is our yoga instructor.
Stand Up Paddling is a great core workout and we combine about 15 minutes of paddle board paddling before the SUP Yoga class begins. Paddle Boarding burns about twice as many calories as bicycling and Yoga is good for your soul! Just being on the water is refreshing in itself. What a great combination. SUP Yoga Class Details:
August 13th No Class due to Marathon Nationals Race
Where: Burt Lake – Just off DeVoe Beach
Call to confirm board availability and make a reservation or stop by BrassWind Landing to pre-register and pay for the class. The day of the class Sheree Lincoln from BrassWind Landing will meet you at the beach at 8:AM. First we all help unload the boards from the trailer. Yoga Teacher, Jesica Bunker will set up the anchor lines while everyone is getting comfortable on the paddling on their stand up paddle boards. We will then anchor tie our paddle boards to the anchor line and begin. The rest of the class will be Yoga on the paddle boards until it is time to help load them back on the BrassWind Landing Trailer.
SUP Yoga Class Fee $30
$15 for Yoga Class & $15 for Board Rental*
*you may bring your own board then class is $15.
*** Windy days class will be rescheduled.

Hatha yoga is a style that refers yoga that teaches physical postures. Almost any yoga taught in the Western Hemisphere fall in the Hatha yoga category. What can you expect in a Hatha class or from a teacher certified in Hatha style yoga? It will usually involve gentle movements utilizing the basic yoga postures. Often teachers include Hatha yoga class, but you should end up leaving class feeling longer, looser, and more relaxed. At times the teacher may include other styles of yoga in their classes that may involve more intense movements to help invigorate your body and your mind.

We will be paddling for about 15-20 minutes at the beginning of each sessions so this will help you get accustomed to the boards before we start the Yoga.
