The Sturgeon River

Come Tame the Dragon on the Sturgeon River

kayaking on Sturgeon river

The Sturgeon River is the fastest moving river in Lower Michigan. A kayaking adventure on the Sturgeon River offers many opportunities for thrills and chills since it is a spring fed river with temperatures running between 42 and 52 degrees. Come tame the dragon on this fast water kayaking river trip. This is a technical river with many turns and natural log jams along the way, low branches and bridges to paddle under. This trip is fun paddling by confident paddlers who have kayaked before or on in good athletic shape. We have a quiet water trip from Burt Lake to Mullett Lake on the Inland Waterway for a more relaxing river trip adventure. We plan custom trips in higher end kayaks so we can pick out the kayak or river trip that is right for your level of paddling. Click here to read more about the Quiet Water Indian River Trips.

We offer several different types of kayaks for rent for the kayaking river trips: A. The Remix XP’s are a white water hybrid kayak for the skilled kayaker with previous paddling experience. B. The Marvel Sit-in Kayak which is a bit wider and balances nicely on the water. C. The Coupe Sit-on-top Kayak.

Sturgeon River Trips Start June 18th 2011 with our 1 1/2  hour trip, with longer River Trips to be added as the summer season progresses. Free squeezable water bottle with our dragon logo in it with your first rental. Our logo was created by Marvel Comic Artist and Illustrator Scott Rosema. We also offer lessons for the beginner to the advanced paddler with River Guide Rick Meisterheim. Read more  about lessons click here.
