Quiet Water Kayaking on Burt Lake & Indian River

Enjoy our quiet water paddling on the Inland Waterway in Northern Michigan. BrassWind Landing and Arts and Adventure Paddlesports offer a variety of Kayaking Trips in Indian River, Michigan.

Burt Lake – DeVoe Beach to Village Trip: 1 Hour: Starts at  DeVoe Beach Tuscarora Township Park, paddle from the beach out on Burt Lake for a bit and then into the mouth of the Indian River then paddle through the village and back up the River to the Beach. You can stop to rest at the City Dock before heading back. You can also take a little detour through the tunnel under the bridge to old Marina Park. PLEASE AVOID taking the kayaks onto any cement ramps to help protect our kayaks from damage. It takes a little more effort to paddle up the river but is still a nice ride and gives you an opportunity to take in the sites on the other side of the river that you missed on your way down. $20

Burt Lake to Indian River to Indian River Spreads at South end of Mullett Lake Trip: 2  & 3  hours: Beautiful quiet water paddle 2 hours trip depending on the paddler and how long  you stop to enjoy of the scenery or eat your lunch among the reeds along the way.  Starts from The Tuscarora Township Park at Devoe Beach  on Burt Lake and wind along the Inland Waterway of Northern Michigan, through the village, passed Marina Park and out to the Indian River Spreads Area at the mouth of the Indian River, before it joins Mullett Lake at its Southern end. This trip ends at a private estate off N Grandview Beach Road.  Enjoy paddling around the beautiful island and watching for fish, loons, otters and other wildlife among the reed beds of the Straits. Your trip ends at a dock on a private estate along the Straits area. Our Courtesy van is available to pick you up and the end of your trip and return you to your car. $35  for 2 hours $40 for 3 Hours.

Sunset Trips ~ Indian River to Mullett Lake : 2 hours: Take a sunset kayak trip  at the end of your hectic day and enjoy a serene trip along the reed beds and grassy marsh along the Inland Waterway in the soft evening light.  Paddle along the waterway and watch for loons, ducks, dragon flies, cranes, eagles, black birds and more. Trips start at 7:00pm  by appointment only. $35
