Have your own kayak or stand up paddleboard and want some other people to paddle with? Meet at DeVoe beach at 8:45 PM Thursday evenings for a sunset paddle.

 Waves and Weather

We plan to paddle on Burt Lake. However based on the wind and waves we may decide  head down the Indian River or even put in directly on the river at the ramp on Witt.

We can also paddle from Burt Lake into the mouth of the Sturgeon River and paddle against the current as far as we can (About to M27). The cedar trees are beautiful and the water is well behaved in thus stretch. Then its a fast gondola like paddle back to Burt Lake.

Have a SUP or kayak? No Cost to Meet up.

Arts and Adventure Paddlesports at BrassWind Landing in the Indian River Michigan area, is featured in the new Cheboygan Naturally Video along with other area businesses.  This Why Cheboygan? video shows the fabulous waters surrounding the “tip of the mitt” of Northern Michigan and the surrounding landscapes, cities, towns and villages of Harbor Springs, Indian River, Cheboygan, and more. The footage is breath taking – even shows the curvature of the earth at the Straits of Mackinaw. This video was created to show a cross section of people who have moved here to open businesses in Cheboygan County and to encourage others to work, live and play here along the Inland Waterway and the shores of Lake Michigan. It shows recreational photos from the lakes, rivers and over 200 miles of shoreline and 450 miles of trails!

The video  created by the McGinnis Video Productions at www.McVideo.com, at the request of the Northern Lakes Economic Alliance, to promote the Cheboygan County lifestyle.

Cody, River Guide  from Big Bear Adventures raced the Indian River Biathlon in  BrassWind Landing’s sea kayak from Native Watercraft, the  Inuit 14.5. Cody placed in the top 10 and won 2nd place in his 20-30 age group division. Wow!  We got some fabulous photos and I notice later that his shirt said “Pure Adrenaline” on the back… I am sure it helped his fabulous performance. We are very excited that He choose to run the race in one of our sea kayaks.  You can rent this boat for an Indian River Trip or to go kayaking on Burt Lake.  We were excited to be there to watch the race and take most of the photos in this Slide Show. The last few photos are by Indian River Striders Photographer Winnie Johnson.
